A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes by Stephen Hawking

The most exciting book I’ve read in recent years. I recommend reading it to all of those who are interested in the universe, its creation, ask questions about God, and the role of science in history. I promise you will see life differently. Now, I understand the words of Perelman: Why do I need a million dollars? I can control the universe.

Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku

The book explains the possibilities of the future in a simple language: time travel, lightsabers, the existence of the parallel universes, reading thoughts from distance, invisibility of physical objects, teleportation, and telekinesis.

Blockchain Revolution: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin is Changing Money, Business, and the World by Don Tapscott, Alex Tapscott

The book explains the popular blockchain technology and how it is changing the world. Blockchain is a complex mathematical algorithm. The first practical application of the algorithm is the Bitcoin network. There participants can exchange the digital currency Bitcoin. All transactions are recorded in the global ledger. It is distributed among all the members of the network. If you have Bitcoins in your wallet, then everyone will know about it all. However, if you spend Bitcoins then everyone will know about it as well. Thus, it is impossible to forge the state of the accounts. There is no owner in the Bitcoin network. All the computers on the network are equal and everyone can both receive and give information. Anyone can join the network. The transactions are encrypted with two keys, public and private, which ensure the account’s privacy and safety. Every 10 minutes, all of the transactions are checked and recorded in the block, which is connected to the previous block, forming a chain of blocks. The system records the time of the transaction, thus solving the problem of double-spending. If someone wants to steal one Bitcoin, then he or she will have to rewrite the whole history of the blockchain which is almost impossible.

Bold: How to Go Big, Create Wealth and Impact the World by Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler

This book is about exponential development of technology and how to use it in business development. There are many examples and interesting stories, but I have not found any practical applications of these practices.

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

It is not a surprise that this book is about success and how to achieve it. People keep looking for a formula for success and each time they reach the same conclusion: the formula consists of hard work and luck.

Breakthrough Rapid Reading by Peter Kump

A book with variety of exercises and techniques which actually help increase the speed of reading and memorization. I, myself, could not change the technique of reading books. The main emphasis is to use a forefinger while reading. This method really helps to increase the speed of reading however I do not enjoy reading anymore while using this method. Therefore, I did not use the technique in my daily reading. I would most defiantly give this book to my children who are studying and are required to read on daily basis.

5 Parenting Techniques; 4 Types of Love by Michail Litvak

I have read enough if Litvak and other psychologists such as Jorge Bucay Loving Oneself with Open Eyes and others. I have finally formulated for myself the following principles for the relationships:

Love is an active involvement in the development of the object of your love. Your wife and children are objects of love; if you are not involved in their development then it means you do not love them. If your wife loves you then she also must be engaged in your development. It should be enjoyable for both of you. Children can’t help you develop however participation in the children’s development is also your own development in a sense.

Do not hide your dark sides from your partner; sooner or later they will get out, and your partner will not be able to accept them. It is better to learn everything before entering a relationship.

In addition to that, stop idealizing your partner and children. The more disappointments you can go through keeping your feeing, the stronger your relationship will be. Disappointments are an essential experience and the foundation of love.

Learn to admire your children – you will be happy.

Always refer primarily to your goals and dreams. Your family should not be an obstacle to their implementation. Children need to see how you reach their peaks and develop; this is the essence of parenting.

However, do not turn your goals into showing the children how hard you work to buy a new car, apartment, etc. Children do not need it. You do it for yourself because of lack of spiritual goals, trying to fill the spiritual void by buying things. Do not be upset, if children will “sell” you in the future, they will have no other choice.
